Data Center Engineer 

Zurich, Switzerland 

€70,000 - €90,000 DOE Plus Benefits  
 

Ashbys Consulting are currently recruiting for a Data Center Engineer to work as part of the Data Center Operations team to deliver support and input to project related tasks within the Data Center. Advising on operational issues with the infrastructure, acting as point of contact for customer requirements, being first line of support for incident and recovery are some of the tasks you will face daily. Other day to day duties include: 
 

• Infrastructure design and implementation  
• Hardware break-fix for cisco systems 
• Patching for migration and relocation projects 
• Patching for server installs 
• Rack and stack of servers and kit to cabinets 
• Running of the environment and issues 
• Distribution/ Core layer patching 
• SAN-attached network patching 
   

The client design, installs, supports and enhances IT infrastructure globally. They are based in the UK, EMEA and USA. The business vision is built on the lifecycle role of IT infrastructure, the knowledge that far from being static installations, they should constantly evolve to drive improved performance for businesses.  
 

Essential experience: 

• Holds previous Data Center experience 
• Troubleshooting  
• Network patching (Copper and Fibre) Install and break/ fix 
• Ability to manage workload effectively  
• Good knowledge of the criticality of the financial sector 

Additional skills 

• CCNA certified or knowledge of layer switch configs 
• Fluke test equipment 
• Request Management Systems
