A fantastic career opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our clients multi-disciplinary team in central Cardiff. The role will provide the chance to develop and progress on merit and to have a say in how we do things, working with inspired and motivated colleagues.

Our client is an independently owned multidisciplinary consultancy, of circa 500 staff, operating out of 17 offices. They bring a fresh approach to M&E, getting involved early, working collaboratively within the design team, highlighting options, guiding the design development and using their expertise to help clients make key decisions – an approach that always results in a building that delivers. Their solutions are tailored to the client – with simplicity of design often key, but with the ability to deliver bespoke highly technical solutions as well.

They work across all sectors, including commercial, industrial, educational, logistics, heritage, retail, leisure and residential for end user clients, investors, developers, architects, and project managers or engineer-led project teams. This diversity of work streams and the fact all team members work across every sector means we are constantly cross-pollinating ideas.

Core job functions:

  • Supporting the team on a number of projects
  • Assist the design from site appraisal/feasibility stage
  • Assist with detailed design to construction status information
  • Liaison with design team, statutory authorities and contractors
  • Assist with site surveys and inspection work
  • Development of junior staff as and when required.

The person we seek:

  • A proven Electrical Engineer, with at least three years’ experience in the UK
  • Knowledge of BIM processes, Revit and IES/Amtech
  • Relevant education and qualifications
  • An articulate communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • A dynamic approach - you enjoy change and variety
  • Positive outlook and self-motivated
  • Someone who believes in our values and wishes to be part of Hydrock and contribute to our success
  • Sound knowledge of the design of electronics, power and electrical systems
