I am currently working with an award winning consultancy, Who has multiple offices across the UK looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer due to growth. This role will be providing and leading a wide range of services across the majority of industry sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, defence and residential. My client offers a fantastic career progression plan in place.
The Responsibility:
- Work with the Engineering Associate/Director on a regular basis, reporting weekly on progress.
- Ensure all projects are completed to a high technical standard, on time and on budget.
- Assist more junior staff with technical queries as appropriate to your knowledge and experience.
- Carry out fee-earning work, getting involved in the design of schemes where appropriate and particularly where high-level technical expertise is required.
- Undertake feasibility studies as required.
- Meet with clients to establish project briefs and budget costs for client consideration.
- Draw up detailed specifications and drawings against client’s briefs.
- Review tenders received and prepare tender reports and recommendations.
- Project manage site works from commencement to completion.
- Agents work against specification requirements and agree with a contractor’s final accounts.
- Carry out inspections of existing installations and submit condition reports.
- Check and prepare information for fee Invoicing each month.
- Manage the day-to-day workload of individuals reporting directly to you, ensuring clarity of their roles, motivation of the team and wellbeing of individuals.
- Advise director and partners on resources required, assisting at interview stage.
- Develop the client base of the practice by being proactive in pursuing marketing opportunities that arise and pursuing marketing initiatives as directed.
