Data centre Operations Engineer

Amsterdam, Netherlands 

€30,000 - €50,000 DOE Plus Benefits 

 
Ashbys Consulting are currently recruiting for a Junior Operations Engineer to join a busy team in Amsterdam. To fit into the experienced operations team providing connectivity through data centres worldwide you’ll need a good knowledge of: 

• Patching 
• ICT & Networking  
• Electrical & Mechanical Infrastructure  
• Medium and high voltage systems  
• UPS 
• Emergency power 
• Climate control systems 

The primary focus will be on data centre operations, inspection and maintenance of their co-locations and on-site data centre including: 

• Facilitating installations of servers and network equipment 
• Planning moves or new buildouts  
• Maintaining data centre documentation 
• Installing and cabling switches, servers in data centre 
• Managing space and monitoring capacity 

 
They are recruiting for this position on a permanent basis and are looking for the following experience: 

• Previous data centre experience  
• Experience with port locations for specific manufacturers  
• Knowledge of structured cabling systems 
• Experience configuring and using cable testers to trouble shoot 
• Strong English and Dutch would be a bonus
